It's Me, TSL!

Sunday, June 8, 2008

A small town girl from Perak went alone to KL in May 2006 and become a UTAR’s Year 3 degree student now. She used to play volleyball almost everyday with her best friends, ride bicycle through the small village, play marbles with Malay friends, as well as play piano. However, since coming to this big city, those hobbies cannot be done anymore.

So, her daily activities are changing as follow: go to the University, do the tutorial, jogging and swimming sometimes, and rush for the assignments and tests! Luckily, she makes a lot of new friends in the University. Also, she participates in some society activities includes charity and recycling campaign.

The biggest change in her life when coming from her little hometown is that she has to use a technology called laptop everyday. Her top 5 websites and Internet activities are as follow:

° Yahoo! Mail - check and reply messages from all around the world, including my brother who is working in Hong Kong and can’t chat directly through MSN

° Friendster - update old and new friends’ recent status by seeing their photos and messages

° Google - google (search) the information

° Wikipedia - search the background and history of the information

° UTAR Website - check the final exam results, renew library books, and read resent posted news.

She is a 22-year-old ordinary girl with a little bit of pride. Her name is Tay Siew Li, a name commonly shared by others. Ironically, she dreams of some surprise will be incurred everyday. May her dream come true.
